Buttendz Hockey Grips Ultimate Reviews in 2020

In recent years, a lot of NHL players use grip instead of tape for their sticks. Rubberized grips are proved to provide increased stickiness and help absorb the vibrations and energy that a stick receives when a puck makes contact with the blade and vice versa.

Your hands can receive the energy more efficiently on the ice, which allows you to hold the stick more effectively. Today, Puck Drawn Hockey is going to be taking a look at one of the best Hockey Grips available on the market – the Buttendz Hockey Grips Ultimate Reviews in 2020

What is Buttendz Hockey Grips?

Now, what exactly is Buttendz? Buttendz is a stick grip. In other words, it’s the hockey stick tape alternatives for the top of your stick. If you’ve been using stick tape for as long as you can remember, you’re probably sitting there thinking: Why would I want to switch the grips? There’s a lot of reasons that you might want to consider it, but for me personally, the main one was that taping the top of the stick is tedious.

The Convenience of Buttendz Hockey Grips

Taping the top of the sticks is annoying. And you know what is even worse? To untape it. I can’t be the only hockey player out there that’s frustrated by having to do this. I love taping up my stick blade.

I love to see how close to perfect I can get – nothing is better than a fresh TJ. However, I’m not a fan of doing up the top of the stick at all.

Using Buttendz means I don’t have to worry about doing that application process. Getting the Buttendz onto your stick is straightforward and easy. Inside the Buttendz case, when you buy it, you’ve got the Buttendz itself, and inside the Buttendz, you also have a little spray canister that holds in here.

This is a savor glue which I found out is completely harmless after accidentally spraying some directly into my eye. Make sure you don’t do that, but youngsters and parents, you’re good to go since this stuff is entirely harmless.

All you need to do with that little canister of spray of adhesive is to spray it inside the Buttendz. You should make sure that you leave a little bit extra to also spray on the top of your stick, which will make the application much more manageable.

After that, it’s a simple case of sliding the Buttendz over the top of your stick into the position that you want it to be. The next step is to let it rest. Twenty-four hours is the recommended time for it to set and dry, and then you are good to go.

Time-saving

Your Buttendz will last much longer on the top of your stick compared to traditional hockey stick tape. If you’re a recreational player or a bear leader and you’re only playing a few times a week, you probably don’t have to worry about changing these out for a very long time. This is a bonus prize in the first point, which is convenient.

Aside from all of the convenience that we’ve gone over, not having to worry about taping the top of my hockey stick for an entire year is a big bonus. That’s one of the reasons that I’ve always stuck with these things, aside from how it makes me feel and perform on the ice.

Consistency

One of the things I genuinely like about Buttendz is the consistency of how it feels on the ice. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been playing hockey for, you’re never going to be able to take your stick up the same way every single time you do a new tape job. Now with the Buttendz, you’re going to be getting the same feeling, because it’s going to be in the same shape every single time you use your stick.

This also means that if you get a new stick, you were able to move the same Buttendz that you’ve been using straight onto the new stick that you get. Thus, you’re always going to have that same consistent feel.

Tighter Grip

One of the things you can pick up immediately when using the Buttendz on the ice is how it feels. What I mean here is that you’re definitely going to get an enhanced grip. When you have a tighter grip with your hockey stick, you’re going to be able to shoot harder.

Aside from that, doing things like stick handling, receiving, and passing is also going to be much easier since you’re ready to hold your hockey stick thanks to the tighter grips securely.

Another bonus is going to be the Buttendz reduces the vibrations that travel up the shaft of the stick from a fierce shot to your hand. These are subtle differences between tape and grips that you don’t really think about until you actually step out onto the ice with one of these things on your stick and use it.

Comfortable in Your Palm

Aside from the performance, benefits of violence, and the fact that they do look pretty sweet on your stick, the main reason people continue to use these things is because of the way they feel compared to tape. They feel much more comfortable in the palm of your hands.

When you feel more comfortable in the ice, that’s going to go towards improving your confidence. If you’re feeling comfortable, you’re feeling confident, and you’re going to play well. It’s one of the reasons that we’ve continued to use the Buttendz.

Durability

Buttendz lasts longer than the tape, but the huge question is going to be how much longer. Of course, that’s similar to saying how long a piece of string is. It depends on how hard you play with your sticks, and also how often you play. However, to give an example, this is my case.

I usually play between 2 to 3 times a week. The first time I used Buttendz was pretty much when the Buttendz company first launched, and I had the first one; I think it was a 12 on the end of my stick. It was there for about 7 to 8 months before it split.

And the only reason it split was because I put it on slightly incorrectly, so there was a little bit of an overlap. That overlap caused it to break down a little bit sooner than it should. Based on the way that I use my gears, if I apply it correctly at first, I could probably get away with one year using one of these.

Reusability and Weight

Best of all, Buttendz is also reusable. Just soak it in water to remove it, and use the adhesive or glue to reattach it onto a new stick. Next, because we’re talking about hockey sticks.

We’re not going to leave the subject of weight untouched. That’s a big thing when it comes to sticks. So the bottom of the Buttendz is the flux part, which has quite a big butt at the top.

This button weighed 38 grams. The regular hockey stick tape job that I do to the top of my stick was weighing in at 18 grams. So the bottom that I was using was essentially adding 20 grams to my hockey stick.

However, believe it or not, this isn’t a weight that you feel at all. It’s not something that you will notice when you get onto the ice. All you need to be concerned about is how these things feel.

To conclude, you have to use the Buttendz yourself to see all the advantages that I have explained above. Put one of these Buttendz Hockey Grips on the end of your stick, and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

When you have better comfort over your stick , you are going to be able to play that a little bit better. Puck Drawn Hockey is not saying this gear is going to turn you into a superstar, but because you have better control, you are going to perform more impressively on the ice. It’s as simple as that.
